California and Nevada Wedding Licenses

Nevada

• In the state of Nevada a minister will be needed to perform the wedding ceremony and sign your wedding license.
• A Nevada marriage license can be obtained seven days a week at the Douglas County Clerk's Office, Lake Tahoe Administration Building at 175 U.S. Highway 50, Stateline, Nevada. (At the corner of Kahle Drive, three traffic signals east of Caesar's, across from Lakeside Inn and Casino, same location as the Sheriff's Office.)
• Hours: Monday through Saturday 9am to 8pm; Sundays and holidays 10am to 3pm; close on Christmas eve at 5 and closed entirely on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
• $55.00 Cash, Travelers Checks or Visa (Certified Copies are $10.00 extra).

OR

• You can get a Nevada marriage license in Carson City at 885 East Musser Street, Suite 1025.
• Hours: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. 
  Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  Sunday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• $65.00 Cash (Certified copy included).

Brides, you may want to consider how many certified copies will be necessary to document your marriage and possible name changes to various agencies. Planning ahead will save you time and energy. One of the following forms of identification is required from both parties; Drivers License, Certified Copy of Birth Certificate, Passport, or Military ID. There is no waiting period and no blood test is required. The license is valid for one year. You must be 18 years of age or older or 16 to 18 years of age with notarized parents consent, or with parents present. For more information visit : Douglas County Clerk or Carson City Clerk 

California

• A minister will be needed to perform the wedding ceremony and sign your wedding license.
• License can be obtained at the South Lake Tahoe Court House, El Dorado County Clerk's Office, 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd., Suite 108, at the corner of Hwy 50 and Takela, between Safeway and Bank of America.
• 9:00 am to 12:00 noon  and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm  Monday through Friday
• $50.00 cash, Travelers checks or personal check (includes one Certified Copy). 
• Two forms of identification are required, one with a current picture.
• Waiting Period: None
• Blood Test: None
• Expiration Date: 90 days
• Age Requirements: 18 years of age or older.
• California Confidential Record of Marriage: available through Notary Public by appointment only - $45.00 for the license plus the notary's fee
